Hankook Faces the Toughest Terrain at WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2026

Round 3 of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship runs from 12 to 15 March across demanding gravel stages around Naivasha in Kenya. One of the toughest rallies on the calendar, Safari Rally Kenya tests drivers, cars and tyres across rough terrain in the African savanna.

The rally covers 350.52 kilometres across 20 special stages, with deep sand, sharp rocks, wide open savanna and the well known “fesh-fesh” dust creating unpredictable conditions. Rapid weather changes add further difficulty, placing strong emphasis on tyre durability, grip and stable handling throughout the event.

Hankook’s Dynapro R213 gravel rally tyre plays a key role in these conditions. The tyre delivers consistent grip and stable handling across rough gravel surfaces. An updated compound improves flexibility in lower temperatures and increases grip on wet or slippery stages. The tyre structure also supports durability during long and punishing rally stages.

Safari Rally Kenya returned to the WRC calendar in 2021 and continues to attract strong interest from rally fans around the world. Toyota GAZOO Racing has won the last five editions of the event. Hyundai Shell Mobis and M-Sport Ford enter the 2026 rally aiming to challenge for victory across the demanding Kenyan stages.

Hankook has served as the exclusive tyre supplier across all WRC classes since the 2025 season. The championship provides a global platform to demonstrate Hankook’s tyre technology under extreme conditions. Insights gathered from more than 70 motorsport championships worldwide continue to support the development of Hankook’s high performance tyre range for both motorsport and everyday driving.
