Hankook’s Ventus Z215 and Ventus Z210 tyres set to deliver top performance in high-temperature conditions
The fourth round of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) heads to Spain’s Canary Islands this week, as Hankook Tire continues its role as the exclusive tyre supplier for the series. For the first time in its history, the Rally Islas Canarias will feature on the WRC calendar, underlining Hankook’s dedication to global motorsport.
A fixture in European rallying since 1977, Rally Islas Canarias brings a rich heritage from its time in both the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC). This year’s event will unfold on the island of Gran Canaria, known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, twisty mountain roads and coastal scenery. Las Palmas, the island’s capital, plays host to the fan-favourite Super Special Stage.
As the WRC’s first all-tarmac event of the season, the rally presents a unique challenge. Across 301.3 kilometres of competitive distance, spread over 18 special stages, drivers will face sharp elevation changes and tight, technical asphalt roads. High surface temperatures will play a major role, increasing tyre wear and adding another layer of strategy to tyre selection and management.
Hankook will supply its Ventus Z215 and Ventus Z210 tarmac rally tyres for the event. The Ventus Z215 is designed to offer exceptional cornering stability and precise handling on dry roads, while the Ventus Z210 is optimised for wet conditions, offering strong grip and effective water dispersion. Together, they provide the versatility and performance needed for one of the most demanding rallies of the season.
Hankook continues to raise its global profile through its association with the WRC and the visibility of its unified international brand. The recent Safari Rally Kenya in March drew over 250,000 spectators, a 33% increase from the previous year, a sign of the championship’s growing popularity and Hankook’s expanding influence in global motorsport.
As the exclusive tyre supplier across all WRC categories from 2025 to 2027, Hankook is reinforcing its leadership in high-performance tyre technology. Since 2023, the company has worked closely with the FIA and leading manufacturers, conducting more than 2,000 kilometres of on-the-ground testing across eight countries. Through the development of FIA-certified rally tyres capable of delivering peak performance in the toughest conditions, Hankook continues to cement its status as a premium name in world motorsport.
